iPhone 15 Pro Review: 4 New Features

iPhone 15 pro

This is the iPhone 15 Pro. While I think its improvements may be minor, people should eschew any thoughts of upgrading every year to stay competitive in their market.

Though many of us already have this goal in mind, many are stuck on the misconception that an upgrade would only bring minor differences from last year’s phone to this year’s.

Like its Zenfone 10 counterpart that I reviewed last time, Apple has made improvements and tweaks on their latest iPhone 15 Pro that we will cover here in detail.

Already, we are starting to experience some issues and see where potential improvements could be made, as well as potential flaws that have surfaced since. So let’s discuss that too.

There are basically four new features that they’ve included in this release. This includes The Build, Construction of the Camera, the Chip, and the Action Button.

1- The Build

iPhone 15 pro

A good place to start is with the design of this phone. This year’s iPhone features updated design and materials from Apple, including rounded
corners instead of flat glass for a more aesthetically pleasing look.

There are soft curves around its edges for increased protection against screen protectors. Screen sizes remain identical, while bezels have become thinner all around.

Diagonal measurements have decreased by about one millimeter, while rails reportedly switched from stainless steel to lighter brushed and coated titanium rails, reportedly making for easier transportation and handling.

I think the new phone is slightly better. I find it much lighter than its predecessor, although only 10% on paper, but it feels much heavier!

There is also a new color palette; I prefer natural titanium because I think it is the most
attractive of the new options.

Other colors are great too, although they tend to collect fingerprints more quickly.

My concerns regarding lighter-colored scratches if scratched hard enough were further confirmed when Zack Jerry Rig Everything posted his video showing him cutting up the piece.

If your current phone is working perfectly, then there’s no compelling need for upgrading solely because of titanium construction or smaller bezels.

However, if you take a step back and compare it with one of the iPhone 11 models, then you’ll notice the difference growing as time passes.

USB-Type C:

But the main reason to be excited about this build, to be real, is that there’s a brand new port on the bottom of the phone called USB Type C.

This is a huge benefit to those like me who own various gadgets in their lives, such as headphones, computers, and keyboards. I only carry one charger. It works with every device.

We are aware that the EU required them to do so, which is why we applaud the EU for this.

We now have a USB-C iPhone, but the pitch only mentions that there is a cable to connect
everything. Other devices can also be plugged in.

Plug in a keyboard and use it for typing, or connect your monitor.

Mirroring your screen at 4K-60 resolution should be possible.

Additionally, the Pro phone is now compatible with Google Voice services.
USB 3.0 speeds up data transfers rapidly.

There has been much discussion regarding the cable inside the packaging.

Don’t forget that beautiful braided USB-C cable, too!

The box it comes in remains unknown, however, as it only supports USB 2.0 transfers and has a slow cable.

So if you own a Pro-model smartphone and a phone that meets this criteria, are you in need of a faster, separate cable? People found it odd. However, this is very normal and shouldn’t cause alarm.

Charging speeds have not increased, and maximum wireless power output remains at 25W; furthermore, there’s no Thunderbolt support in the device.

2- The Chip in 15 pro

It’s a great introduction to the primary enabler, the new powerhouse chip that is inside the phone and has a brand new name—it’s the A17 Pro.

The base iPhone 15 received the A16 bionic that was originally found in the iPhone 14 Pro.

So, we have this new, more powerful chip that’s being used in the top-end phones. And this isn’t the A17 Bionic It’s the first model to bear the A17 Pro brand name.

It is the company’s first 3-nanometer chip. Actually, the first 3-nanometer chip inside a phone, which we’ll likely keep an eye on for another year or two.

I ran a few benchmarks, and it’s actually getting close to M1 chip levels and 10 to 20% more powerful than the previous model.

The new neural engine can recognize Portrait Mode subjects, like the faces of people, cats and dogs, immediately and allows you to take a trip back in time and set a normal image to a Portrait Mode photo.

Battery Life of iPhone 15 Pro:

In what ways am I most worried?  In fact, there are two issues with the battery’s current life expectancy.

These are battery life issues and overheating problems.

These phones have slightly larger batteries than the last one and a brand new 3-nanometer chip.

In a controlled environment, they should be doing better, and they do. We also began to see some headlines concerning battery life possibly becoming shorter and a few overheating issues.

Here’s the bizarre answer:

Yes, but not as I’d expect. Additionally, there have been problems that are being blamed on iOS 17 bugs, as if we’re already at 17.0.2. I’m sure there will be additional updates in the pipeline.

However, at the end of the story, I’m feeling that I’m anticipating battery life to basically be exactly the same as the previous year.

3- Camera of iPhone 15 Pro

We can now talk about anything we need to know about what Pro actually refers to on a smartphone. However, when it comes to iPhones, this has mostly been cameras.

It turns out that there is quite a bit going on using these similar-looking cameras on the new Pro phones, both in hardware and software.

You’re looking at an upgraded 48-megapixel main camera. It also has an upgraded ultra-wide

with a more precise macro capability and a complete telephoto scenario.

So, you’re aware of the majority of phones. Many of them come with cameras that are as high as 48 megapixels; they all resize to 12 megapixels.

Images:

They provide 12-megapixel images, as did older iPhones. For those who haven’t seen it yet, this new version is, in fact, by default spouting out 24 megapixel images instead of 12.

In other words, if you only browse through photos taken on this camera, it’s an iPhone photo, for instance. They’re pretty awesome.

iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 15 Pro

They’re fantastic, with a dynamic range and clarity and sharpness across and all over.
I still prefer to shoot in the deep contrast profile all the time.

However, in general, the iPhone camera is among the most powerful cameras.

Does the 24 megapixels make a difference? Over 12 megapixels? Well, you zoomed out but not.
They are basically identical. So you have to zoom in. Even at 50 percent zoom, it’s difficult to discern the difference.

Again, year-over-year, with that tiny amount similar to pixel-peeping details, However, over a greater distance or over a number of generations It’s the sort of thing that accumulates.

Video:

The stabilization and stability—they’re all world-class. However, this year, you are also able to shoot logs.

Camera Log:

It’s essentially a pro-camera feature. It is now a bit of a pain to find multiple layers deep in the distinct Settings app, which isn’t really pro.

If you decide that it’s time to switch and enter Log, the iPhone can shoot with a lot more details.

Apple is the only one with its own transformation to convert the image into SDR or HDR, or you can do it yourself and make the grade yourself to maximize the value of the video capabilities of your iPhone, and it really looks very good.

Then the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the most important model, isn’t the only one to come with the new 5X zoom lens for telephotos. I’d bet my whole life on it that this will fall to the smaller Pro in the coming year. However, it’s only in the main version this time.

It does allow you to go farther With a max zoom ranging between 15X and 25X, however, it’s not as effective as a few of the larger lenses for telephotos.

iPhone 15 pro zoom

I’m talking about Samsung having an optical zoom of 10X. This one blows it out of the way in terms of reach.

If you’re seeking a firm decision, On the other hand, you can compare iPhone 15 Pro side by side with Samsung, Pixel, Oppo, etc. You’ll have to come up with it over time.

such as, yes, there will be some instances like exact zoom focal lengths in which one is more sharp than the other, but, honestly, at the end of the day, the majority of it will be tasted.

That’s right, it’s a bit of a challenge to have to determine which one you prefer in terms of image quality and, in particular, UI. It’s just how you take photos and videos.

4- Action Button

One last thing, however, is that this new phone supports an Action Button on this brand new Pro iPhone only since only pros require customization.

Let’s face it, I am in love with this button. Action Button, But I also have to be aware that it’s sort of overrated or underrated based on the person you are. For instance, on one side, this is an adjustable button Like, who could have even seen this?

It replaces the most infrequently used button. it was also on earlier iPhones, since your phone must always be turned off. Then you can create a map of this Action-Button to basically anything you’d like.

It can be used as a Mute switch and is characterized by the same powerful physical haptics that tell whether it’s muted or not inside your pockets without checking.

However, there are a lot of other fun functions that you can choose from, From launching your camera to literally any app that you can find on your smartphone, you’d like to use the Siri Shortcut.

However, on the other side, I think that, for the majority of people, this is going to be one of those things. which they play with for about three to four days, and then you can just forget about it. And never, ever use it again.

It’s because it’s hard to reach. It’s not even an all-hand button. The place where your fingers are usually resting for everyone, particularly on the Pro Max, is in the corner, just over the volume buttons.

It could make a cool shutter button for your camera. However, those volume controls already accomplish this. So yeah, I’m thinking you might too. You may get it set back to mute.

Then forgetting about it for several weeks.

It’s okay, too.

Final Verdict

So, what’s the final verdict? What’s your opinion on the brand new Pro iPhone of 2023?

This is one way that such a thing can happen. I am in conversation with friends, and I usually have to attempt to simplify everything and then summarize it into one sentence.

The truth, however, is that it’s the same phone that was released last year, with USB-C and a tiny bit of a more powerful chip, a little bit of a larger screen that is brighter, a little bit of thinner bezels, and, I’m not sure, more powerful cameras.

You must decide what matters to you. Are any of those aspects crucial to you? Actually, USB-C may be the most important factor about the latest iPhone, which isn’t what Apple was hoping for.
